This was a fun picture to take. Initially, I was just going to get a nice close-up of this bird sitting on the rail, but when I moved in close, he spread his wings and I snapped the picture.

The beauty of the setting sun over the crashing waves is a wonderful sight, and one I never saw in person until moving out to L.A. from the east coast a couple years ago.

This is one of my first experiments with long-exposure night shots - a wonderful view of Century City.
